Claude Desktop files each Code session under the account you were signed into. Sign into another one and the sidebar starts empty. homecoming brings those sessions back into the account you use now, without moving or changing the originals.
Archived sessions, each branch of a forked conversation, and conversations the app deleted but left on disk all come back, with your groups, routines and pins.
homecoming only adds files. Every change is a dry run until you pass
--yes, is recorded in a ledger, and return removes the copies
again.
It works on the files Claude Desktop keeps on your disk. No credential is used or sent; the only network request is a daily release check, which you can turn off.
homecoming is in private preview and not available for download yet. It runs on Windows, with Node.js 20 or newer, and works in three steps:
homecoming doctor # which store, which account, is the app running
homecoming sweep # dry run: what would come in
homecoming sweep --yes --restart # bring it, then restart Claude Desktop
The sessions appear after Claude Desktop restarts: the sidebar is built at startup.
